Outback Campers have used the AL-KO Independent Rubber Suspension Axle as long as they have been building campers. The IRS Axle is a simple torsion bar system, it has few moving parts which minimizes the chance of it failing. It is fully sealed and there is no required maintenance. The axle is made to be loaded with weight, as it increases the self-dampening action of the trailing arm, creating a smoother ride over rough road conditions.

The axle is extremely reliable, if it was not up to the task, we would not recommend it.
